The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also gained, adding two-point-98 points, or zero-point-32 percent, to close at 934-point-58.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened 13-point-five won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-283-point-four won.
