The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 38-point-19 points, or one-point-five-one percent, on Thursday to close the day at two-thousand-572-point-eight-nine.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 16-point-seven-five points, or one-point-nine percent to close at 899-point-four-seven.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened four-point-three won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-325-point-7 won.
