S. Korea Logs Current Account Surplus for 11th Month in March

The nation logged a current account surplus for the eleventh consecutive month in March thanks to strong exports of semiconductors. 

According to tentative data released by the Bank of Korea(BOK) on Thursday, the current account surplus reached six-point-93 billion U.S. dollars in March.

The current account remained in the black for the eleventh straight month in March, and the surplus also widened from a month earlier. 

The combined current account surplus for the first quarter reached 16-point-84 billion dollars, up 22-point-eight billion dollars from a year earlier. 

The goods account posted a surplus for the 12th consecutive month, marking eight-point-09 billion dollars in March. 

Exports came to almost 58-point-three billion dollars in March, up three percent from a year earlier, while imports decreased 13-point-one percent year-on-year to 50-point-18 billion dollars.
