S. Korea, Poland Sign Social Security Pact
Officials from South Korea and Poland met Thursday in Warsaw to sign a social security agreement.
The Foreign Ministry says the accord would free Korean workers in Poland and Polish workers in Korea from having to make social security contributions to both countries, enabling workers from both sides to save significantly.
The pact is also expected to greatly improve pension conditions for Koreans residing or working in Poland.
South Korea has signed similar agreements with Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania and is looking to adopt such pacts with Latin American countries, including Argentina and Chile.
