Prime Minister Han Seung-soo has ordered measures to minimize the effects of the global financial market jitters on the domestic economy and the lives of low-income earners.

Han said in an economic meeting that although government measures to boost the economy are beginning to produce expected results, it’s still too early for the government to loosen its grip on the situation.

He said the government needs to devise measures to rein in soaring product prices and draft a supplementary budget in a way that would provide substantial assistance to the public.

The prime minister also ordered officials to work out measures to support provincial small and medium companies running short on funds.
