Won Strengthens to Highest Level Since January
The Korean won traded at its highest level since January on Wednesday.
In the Seoul foreign exchange market, the national currency finished at 1,233 won against the greenback, down over six won from Tuesday’s close.
Market participants projected the rate will remain at around the 1,230-won level to the dollar for the time being.
Meanwhile, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) closed at nearly 1415, up over two points from Tuesday’s close.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also inched up by over two points to just over 541.
