MBC to Refer Producers for Disciplinary Action
The broadcast network MBC will refer staff and producers of its TV news program "Producer Notebook" to its personnel committee for disciplinary action.
MBC on Tuesday said it notified the director of the network's current affairs and news team and the program's chief and assistant producers of the decision, adding the committee on Friday will decide on disciplinary action.
The program's staff has admitted to using coercive tactics on cloning pioneer Hwang Woo-suk in covering how his team obtained ova for stem cell research.
Meanwhile, MBC will air a nature documentary Tuesday night instead of the program on Hwang.
