PM: 6-Way, Inter-Korean Talks Linked
Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook says that inter-Korean dialogue will progress in tandem with consultative talks between South Korea and the U.S. and between North Korea and China.
In a Tuesday Cabinet meeting, she denied reports that the government is rushing to realize an inter-Korean summit for political gains.
She said that talks between the two Koreas will not only speed and smoothen Pyongyang's initial steps toward nuclear dismantlement but also boost inter-Korean exchanges.
She said the progress reached at the six-way talks will enable South-North dialogue, which will in turn advance the six-nation process, making the two mutually complementary.
Han said the administration will continue six-party and inter-Korean dialogue side by side, in a consistent manner, to realize North Korea's nuclear dismantlement.
