Former Grand National Party leader Park Geun-hye has taken her first steps to campaign for her former party rival Lee Myung-bak.

The ex-GNP chairwoman visited a marketplace in Muan, South Jeolla Province on Friday to drum up support for her party's presidential nominee. She said that using an election to judge what she called a "failed administration" is a way for the nation to advance. She called for a transfer of power to hold those responsible for failure.

Park said her party had prepared much over the past five years, but was limited by its opposition status. She said the GNP would make everything right and bolster the nation's vitality if it retakes power.
