Gov’t to Revise Subsidy Laws for Non-Profit Groups
The government will revise its laws on the provision of subsidies to non-profit private organizations in an effort to enhance the transparency of the system.
The Ministry of Public Administration and Security said that all non-profit groups will be required to disclose all expenditures funded by government subsidy.
The ministry will also penalize organizations which do not fare well on evaluation.
The ministry plans to implement the revisions starting in 2009.
The government has been aiding non-profit organizations since 2000, providing 117 organizations with almost five-billion won this year alone.
