Yellow Dust Advisory Issued for Seoul
A yellow dust advisory has been issued for Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said Friday that yellow dust density in areas near Baengnyeong Island stood at 700 micrograms per one cubic meter, about 14 times higher than usual.
The weather agency forecast that yellow dust is expected to spread across the entire country and advised the elderly and people with respiratory illnesses to avoid outdoor activity.
The advisory is likely to stay in effect until Saturday.
The weather forecaster said this year is likely to see yellow dust storms more often than last due to drier and hotter weather in China’s northern regions.
