SERI: Exit Strategies to Come in 2nd Half of 2010

News2009-12-10

A new report is forecasting that countries around the world will begin implementing exit strategies from low-interest policies in the latter half of next year.

According to the report by the Samsung Economic Research Institute, exit strategies for the banking sector will be put into place starting in the second half of next year, with exit measures for the fiscal sector not expected to be implemented until 2011 at the earliest.

The institute also dismissed concerns about a double-dip recession, citing that markets have acquired a level of immunity due to the prolonged discussions about exit strategies.

However, the institute added that various transitional risks could emerge until a new international monetary order is established.
