United States chief delegate to the six-party nuclear talks Sung Kim arrived in Japan on Saturday for talks with Japanese officials in response to North Korea’s latest nuclear test.
 
Japan’s NHK reported on Sunday that Kim told reporters at Narita Airport that he will continue close cooperation and coordination with the Japanese government on responding to the North’s growing threat and provocative actions.
 
The U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy said that he will be discussing a full range of issues with Japanese officials including possible action at the United Nations Security Council.
 
He also told NHK that China has a huge responsibility to make sure that UN Security Council resolutions are fully implemented.
 
Kim is expected to meet the Director-General of the Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Kenji Kanasugi, on Sunday before traveling to South Korea to meet with his South Korean counterpart Kim Hong-kyun on Tuesday.
