US Diplomats: N. Korea Issue to Remain Top Priority after Election

The foreign minister has urged the U.S. ambassadors to Seoul, Beijing and Tokyo that the Seoul-Washington collaboration on the North Korean nuclear issue must continue through the power transition in the White House.
Seoul's Foreign Ministry said Minister Yun Byung-se on Monday held a meeting with ambassadors Mark Lippert, Max Baucus and Caroline Kennedy at his office in Seoul.
With Yun stressing that the nuclear concern should be dealt with as a top priority, the three U.S. ambassadors said they expect the North Korea issue will remain as a top agenda for the next U.S. administration.
The ambassadors also said that regardless of the U.S. presidential election result, the South Korea-U.S. alliance will continue to develop based on its outcomes so far.
The three diplomats gathered in Seoul to attend the annual consultation meeting of Northeast Asia-posted ambassadors.
