'US, S. Korea Ready to Counter Any Threats by N. Korea'
The Commander of the Eighth U.S. Army says that South Korea and the United States are putting special focus on defeating North Korea's asymmetric war capabilities such as cyberwarfare.
In a speech at Seoul Cyber University Tuesday, Lieutenant General Thomas Vandal says the South Korea-US alliance is stronger than ever and is ready not only to counter any provocation by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, but ultimately to reunify the Korean Peninsula.
He emphasized the U.S. commitment to its alliance with South Korea will remain unchanged whoever will be elected the next U.S. president.
