NK News: New Corvette with RCS Features Spotted in N. Korean Port

A U.S. Web site centered on news and analysis on North Korea says exclusive photos have revealed that a new modern-style corvette has been spotted in the country's northeastern port of Najin in Rason.
NK News on Tuesday said that two sets of photos taken during different periods this year show a "heavily armed, 77-meter-long vessel with radar cross section(RCS) reducing features.”
The report added that the corvette is equipped with two Kumsong-3 antiship cruise missile launchers, a short-range surface-to-air missile system, torpedo launchers and rotary canons.
The report said that the ship offers more evidence of “a wider North Korean effort to build new naval assets in ways that could pose new threats to the U.S. and South Korea.”
Joe Bermudez, a North Korea expert, said in the report, however, that the new apparent threat would become real only if the reduced-RCS corvette is confirmed to be equipped with modern antiship cruise missiles.
