KCNA: Canadian Delegation Visited N. Korea to Discuss Detained Pastor

A Canadian government delegation is said to have visited North Korea to discuss the detainment of Korean-Canadian pastor Lim Hyeon-soo.
According to the North's official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) on Thursday, a delegation led by Sarah Taylor, the director general for North Asia and Oceania at Global Affairs Canada, visited the North between Tuesday and Thursday.
The report said that the group met with the North’s Director-General for North American Affairs Choe Son-hui and discussed Lim’s situation among other issues of mutual interest.
The KCNA said that the delegation also met with Vice Foreign Minister Han Song-ryol and Lim.
Amid reports that Lim is having health problems, attention is now being drawn on whether any developments will unfold on efforts for his release.
He has been in and out of North Korea since 1997 on humanitarian aid missions. He was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labor for what the North called crimes against the state in December 2015.
