Defense Minister Visits Air Force Operations Command
Defense Minister Han Min-koo made his first field inspection of the new year by visiting the Air Force Operations Command in Osan, Gyeonggi Province on Friday.
He met with commanders who play a key role in crafting response measures to North Korea's nuclear and missile threat.
They oversee three key elements of South Korea's air defense: the so-called "Kill Chain" preemptive strike system, the Korea Air and Missile Defense(KAMD), and an operation named the Korea Massive Punishment and Retaliation(KMPR), aimed at removing top North Korean leaders if the North stages a nuclear attack on the South.
