Marine Commander Inspects Border Islands

Marine Corps Commander Lee Sang-hoon called for an aggressive response to possible North Korean provocations in the western border islands.
Lieutenant General Lee visited the 6th Marine Brigade in Baengnyeong Island near the Northern Limit Line maritime border with North Korea for two days until Friday.
As his inspections wrapped up, the marine corps said that the commander stressed that the five border island region must serve as an outpost for the military's retaliation against the enemy instead of being mere a defense base.
Along such lines, the military is also confirmed to have deployed its 80-kilometer range multiple rocket launcher "Chunmoo" to the border islands at the end of last year.
The commander also boarded the Korea Amphibious Assault Vehicle(KAAV) as well as the UH-60 helicopter from where he observed a Cobra attack helicopter drill.
