WP: Kim Jong-un "Baiting" Trump with New Year's Speech
U.S. newspaper The Washington Post is accusing North Korean leader Kim Jong-un of "baiting" President-elect Donald Trump with talk of a prospective long range missile launch.
In an opinion piece published Sunday, the Post said Kim accomplished his aim of goading Trump into a response by vowing to test an intercontinental ballistic missile.
Just hours after Kim’s speech, Trump tweeted "it won’t happen” with regard to a North Korean missile reaching the continental United States.
The Post editorial warns that the incoming U.S. president can be, in the writers' words, "easily played," both by Pyongyang-style taunts and by flattery alike.
