Acting Pres. Calls for Full Security Readiness Against N. Korea

Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn has called for stern military readiness against possible North Korean provocations.
Hwang delivered the call at the annual central integrated defense meeting on Thursday morning, noting the serious security situation.
He said there is a strong chance that the North will make various military provocations in order to test South Korea’s readiness and defy strong international sanctions on it.
He called on the central and local governments to focus on boosting their capabilities to efficiently respond to North Korean threats ranging from another nuclear test and missile launches to terrorist and cyberattacks.
Before her parliamentary impeachment, President Park Geun-hye had presided over the annual security meeting from 2014 to 2016.
