Trump Nominees Seen as Taking Hard Line on North Korea

Reuters news agency cited unnamed South Korean military officials Thursday who say North Korea may test launch an intercontinental ballistic missile during Friday's inauguration of Donald Trump as U.S. president.

Experts predict that would draw a stern response from the new administration.

Trump's picks for top diplomatic and national security posts are perceived as having hard-line positions regarding North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

The top three officials to oversee U.S. security policies - proposed National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Secretary of State-designate Rex Tillerson,  and Secretary of Defense nominee James Mattis are all expected to support keeping pressure on the North.
