S. Korea, U.S., Japan to Conduct Missile Warning Drill

The Navy says South Korea, the U.S. and Japan will jointly hold a missile defense exercise that will focus on detecting and tracking North Korean missiles from Friday to Sunday.
The three countries will each mobilize an Aegis destroyer for the drill — the Sejong the Great from South Korea, the Stethem from the U.S. and the Kirishima from Japan.
A South Korean naval official said that the three countries will each conduct the exercise in their own waters by detecting and tracking a simulated target through the sharing of information.
The drill comes after South Korean and U.S. authorities announced on Thursday the detection of signs that the North developed two new intercontinental ballistic missiles.
