Ex-N. Korean Diplomat: Kim Jong-un's Days are Numbered

Former North Korean Deputy Ambassador to London Thae Yong-ho says he is certain about the impending collapse of the Kim Jong-un regime.

According to AFP, Thae said in a news conference with foreign correspondents in Seoul Wednesday that the "traditional structures of North Korean systems are crumbling."

This is the first time the former North Korean diplomat has held a news conference with foreign journalists stationed in South Korea since his defection in July last year.

The high-profile defector predicted that many of his fellow diplomats will likely make the same choice as him, seeing that the North is "on a downward path."

While pointing out that he was fortunate enough to have been able to bring his two sons with him to the South, he added that is not the case for many diplomats dispatched abroad.

Thae also repeated his previous stance that more North Korean diplomats in European countries are waiting to come to South Korea. In a meeting with the Bareun Party last week, he said that there are more North Korean diplomats who have defected to the South and that they are just not reported about.
