UNSC Unanimously Condemns N. Korea's Missile Launch

The United Nations Security Council held an urgent meeting on Monday and unanimously denounced North Korea for its latest missile provocation.
The UNSC member states agreed on a press statement that says the North’s launch of a ballistic missile on Sunday is a violation of the UNSC resolutions and warns it could take “additional, grave measures” against the North.
The UNSC convened the emergency meeting at the request of South Korea, the U.S., and Japan after the North test-launched the Bukguksong-2 intermediate-range ballistic missile toward the direction of the East Sea from Banghyon in North Pyongan Province on Sunday morning.
The UN body appears to be taking the new North missile provocation very seriously, given that not every North Korean missile launch has triggered a UNSC press statement
The UNSC adopted nine press statements against the North last year following the regime's test-firing of missiles over 20 times.
The UNSC also adopted two resolutions last year, following the North’s fourth and fifth nuclear tests.
