Acting Pres: Assassination Shows Regime’s Cruelty
Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn says the killing of Kim Jong-un’s half brother Kim Jong-nam will clearly show the North Korean regime’s cruelty and inhumanity, if it is confirmed to have been carried out by Pyongyang.
In a meeting of the National Security Council on Wednesday, he said that the government is keeping a close eye on the North’s moves, calling the incident serious.
The acting president called on the government to make full preparations for additional provocations from North Korea and all other possible scenarios. He also ordered close cooperation with Malaysian authorities in finding the truth behind Kim Jong-nam’s death.
Hwang asked foreign affairs and security ministries to focus on making the Kim Jong-un regime fundamentally change itself by working together with the international community and strengthening sanctions and pressure on Pyongyang.
