The fourth suspect arrested over the assassination of North Korean Kim Jong-un’s half brother Kim Jong-nam is reportedly the first North Korean citizen detained so far and has expertise in chemistry.

Malaysian news media “The Star” said on Sunday that Ri Jong-chol graduated in the science and medicine field from a university in North Korea in 2000.

The report said that Ri was involved in research at a center in Kolkata, India about a year from 2010 and then returned to Pyongyang before getting an offer from an IT company based in Malaysia.

A source reportedly said that it is too early to conclude that Ri is behind the liquid poison believed to have been used to kill Kim Jong-nam, and an investigation is still under way.
