Malaysia Recalls Ambassador to N. Korea

Malaysia has recalled its ambassador to North Korea amid mounting tensions over the assassination of the North Korean leader’s half brother.
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry announced the move on Monday, saying that the envoy is returning home for "consultations."
The ministry also said that the North's ambassador to Malaysia Kang Chol was summoned for "an explanation on the accusations he made against the Government of Malaysia in his press conference" last Friday.
Kang told reporters on Friday that Malaysian authorities have refused to hand over Kim’s body. The diplomat also claimed that authorities in Malaysia are trying to hide something and collude with what he called “hostile forces” to bring harm to the North.
The Malaysian ministry statement called Kang's comments "baseless," adding it "takes very seriously any unfounded attempt to tarnish its reputation."
