S. Korean DMZ Loudspeakers Broadcast Kim Jong-nam Assassination

The South Korean military has begun to inform North Koreans of the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s half-brother, Kim Jong-nam, through loudspeakers on the border.

According to a South Korean military official, the loudspeakers began to send out messages across the border over the weekend announcing that 45-year-old Kim was assassinated in Malaysia in a scheme orchestrated by North Koreans.

The military broadcast also specifies that the assassins are presumed to be agents from the North’s Reconnaissance General Bureau(RGB), working on the order of Kim Jong-un.

In January of 2016, the South Korean military reactivated the operation of the loudspeakers along the border, following North Korea's fourth nuclear test.
