Malay Lawmakers Protest N. Korea's Accusations

The Malaysian government and the public are expressing anger toward North Korea after Pyongyang accused Malaysia of conspiracy over the investigation into the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s half-brother Kim Jong-nam.
Around 30 Malaysian lawmakers gathered in front of the North Korean Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday to protest the North's claims.

"The statements released by the embassy also implied that our investigators colluded with other foreign parties. This is disrespectful to Malaysia's sovereignty... We urge the government of Malaysia to reconsider our diplomatic ties with North Korea."
Malaysia’ Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Aziz also highly criticized the North, calling it “a rogue country” that shows no respect for international law.
Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein warned North Korean Ambassador to Malaysia Kang Chol that he had “crossed the line” with his remarks that the North cannot trust Malaysia’s handling of the probe into Kim Jong-nam’s death.
Sources within the Malaysian government said unless the North stops criticizing Malaysia, the diplomatic relations between Malaysia and the North could even be severed.
