Seoul Urges N. Korea to Admit to Kim Jong-nam Assassination

With increasing evidence pointing to North Korea as the mastermind behind the assassination of Kim Jong-nam, the Unification Ministry in Seoul on Friday urged Pyongyang to come clean and cooperate in the murder investigation.

Ministry spokesman Jeong Joon-hee Friday rejected the North’s claim that evidence pointing to Pyongyang as being behind Kim’s murder is fabricated. Jeong said that the North must realize that the more it makes such claims, the worse its international image will become.

Jeong said that the North has no other option but to act that way because its regime won't recognize crimes it has committed.

The North has previously denied its involvement in the 1987 Korean Air bombing and 2010 sinking of South Korea’s Cheonan naval corvette, claiming the incidents were fabricated by the South.
