UNSC Condemns N. Korea for Attempts to Evade Sanctions

The UN Security Council(UNSC) has unanimously condemned North Korea for its "irresponsible and provocative" attempts to evade sanctions.
The council’s permanent members held a closed-door meeting at the UN headquarters in New York on Monday and unveiled a statement emphasizing “the importance of full compliance" with sanctions resolutions.
The council members also vowed to exert joint efforts to lessen tension on the Korean Peninsula and make it nuclear-free.
The council’s latest condemnation came in the wake of a report by a UN experts panel that assessed that Pyongyang was using "increasingly sophisticated" ways to evade UN sanctions.
The report described in detail how the North is selling North Korean-made military communications equipment to Eritrea via a Malaysia-based front company named Glocom, which is run by the North’s intelligence agency.
