OPCW Ready to Provide Assistance in Investigation into Kim Jong-nam Murder

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons(OPCW) says that it is ready to provide its expertise and assistance for an investigation into the allegations that nerve agent VX was used to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s half-brother Kim Jong-nam in Malaysia.

The international organization said in its statement that the Malaysian authorities seem to have determined that the nerve agent VX was used in a killing at the airport and any use of chemical weapons is deeply disturbing.

The statement said that OPCW stands ready to provide its expertise and technical assistance, if required, to any State Party to the Chemical Weapons Convention.

The OPCW has its headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands with 188 members.
