Top Diplomats Discuss N. Korean Missile Launch

South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se has discussed ways to respond to North Korea’s missile launches on Monday with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida over the phone.
A Foreign Ministry official in Seoul said that Monday’s phone conversation came at Kishida’s request after the North fired four ballistic missiles into the East Sea earlier in the day.
South Korea’s top nuclear negotiator Kim Hong-kyun also spoke over the phone with his U.S. and Japanese counterparts, and assessed the North’s missile provocation and discussed how to respond to it.
They strongly condemned the latest provocation and agreed to work closely together to take stern measures against Monday’s missile launches that followed the assassination of Kim Jong-nam, the half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
