China has voiced opposition to North Korea’s latest launch of four ballistic missiles, criticizing it as a violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions.

Chinese Foreign Minister Spokesman Geng Shuang said on Monday during a regular briefing that Beijing is opposed to North Korea’s launch activities.

The spokesman said China is also watching the large-scale South Korea-US joint military drills, which the two countries say are aimed at deterring North Korea's provocations.

He said related parties should stay calm and not raise tensions in the region, adding China still stands against Seoul’s decision to deploy a U.S. THAAD antimissile system.
