Malaysians Banned from Leaving North Korea

North Korea announced on Tuesday that it will temporarily ban Malaysian nationals residing in the North from leaving the country.
The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) said the North’s Foreign Ministry notified the Malaysian Embassy in Pyongyang of its latest decision.
In reference to Kim Jong-nam's assassination last month, the report said the ban will remain in place until the case is settled fairly and the safety of North Korean diplomats and nationals in Malaysia is fully guaranteed.
The report added that Malaysian diplomats and nationals in the North will be able to carry on with their lives in the same environment and conditions as before.
Hours after Pyongyang announced the decision, Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that North Korean embassy officials will not be allowed to leave the country.
