Malaysia: No Plan to Sever Ties with N. Korea

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak says that he has no plans to shut down the North Korean embassy in Malaysia or sever ties with the communist country.
Najib on Wednesday told reporters at the parliament that his country would not sever ties with the North yet as it is important to keep a channel of communication open.
The remarks came one day after Pyongyang announced a travel ban on Malaysians.
The prime minister said that Malaysia is a country that is friendly to North Korea, but when a crime involving chemical weapons has been committed on its soil, it has a duty to protect the interests of its people.
The prime minister added that Malaysia needs to determine what Pyongyang wants in exchange for lifting the travel ban.
