Foreign ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) have expressed grave concern over North Korea’s latest ballistic missile launches, calling on the North to abide by UN Security Council resolutions.

In a joint statement posted on the Web site of the ASEAN, top diplomats of the ten-nation organization pointed out that the launch on Monday is the second such act carried out by the North since the start of the year and is in clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

The ministers strongly urged Pyongyang to comply with UNSC resolutions in the interest of maintaining peace and security in the region.

ASEAN issued a similar joint statement last month when the North fired off a ballistic missile.
