Yun, Tillerson to Discuss Sanctions, Pressure on N. Korea

When the top diplomats of South Korea and the U.S. meet in Seoul next week, their talks will cover ways to bring North Korea into line.
On Thursday, South Korea's foreign ministry said Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will meet next Friday, and Tillerson's visit to Seoul is "very timely."
The ministry said the talks will include ways to improve bilateral coordination on North Korea, as well as global sanctions and pressure on the North.
When asked whether Tillerson's visit will serve to ease confrontation with China over the THAAD U.S. missile shield deployment, the spokesman said in-depth talks are expected on strengthening the alliance and other pending concerns.
Cho also expressed hope that the secretary's visit will reaffirm the two allies' commitment to a stronger alliance and iron-clad coordination against North Korea's nuclear threat.
In his first tour of Asia, which also includes China and Japan, Tillerson will visit South Korea March 17th and the 18th.
