38 North: N. Korea Capable of 6th Nuclear Test
The U.S.-based North Korea monitoring Web site "38 North" says the regime may be preparing for another nuclear test.
After observing movements of equipment and supplies at the entrance of the regime’s Punggye-ri nuclear test site, 38 North said Thursday that all such recent activities since October proves the prediction.
It said that North Korea is now capable of handling a sixth underground atomic-explosion test on short notice once a nuclear device and the associated monitoring equipment are put in position.
In an analysis of the satellite imagery taken on March seventh, 38 North said the North Portal of the Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site had what appears to be a large shipping container or crate, instead of the equipment and supplies present at the location on February 21st.
The Web site also said that vehicles were commuting between buildings at the nuclear site, given the lack of snow in several areas.
The North conducted its fifth nuclear test in September at the Punggye-ri site, located in the northeastern part of the country.
