Malay Police Confirm N. Korean Victim as Kim Jong-nam

Malaysian police have verified that the North Korean man killed at Kualu Lumpur airport last month is Kim Jong-nam, the half brother of North Korea's leader.

According to local media including The Star daily, Malaysian police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said Friday that every possible action has been taken to verify the man's identity, and confirmed the victim as Kim Jong-nam.

The police chief, however, did not say what method was used to confirm his identity or whether Kim's family provided a DNA sample for the verification.

At the time of death, Kim was carrying a passport with the name "Kim Chol."

It's still unclear if anyone will claim Kim's body.
