Unification Ministry: N. Korea Intends to Cause Conflict in S.Korea

The Unification Ministry says that the North Korean media is focusing on an upcoming presidential election in South Korea, which will be held earlier than scheduled, following the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye last week.
A ministry official said Tuesday it appears that the North intends to ignite internal conflict in the South.
His remarks comes after Pyongyang’s Council for National Reconciliation said in a statement on Saturday that Park’s impeachment is just a starting point and South Korean people should fight to completely remove reactionary forces.
North Korean news outlets are also strongly denouncing each of the Park Geun-hye government’s policies.
North Korean ruling party gazette Rodong Sinmun said Tuesday that South Korea’s low economic growth rate, the sinking of the Sewol ferry and the publication of state-authored history textbooks are examples of administrative failure by Park and her government.
On Monday, it harshly criticized the South’s national security adviser, and ministers of national defense, foreign affairs and unification. It then claimed that the Park Geun-hye government’s conflict-oriented inter-Korean policy has already failed and abolishing it is a longstanding call of the people.
