North Korea has released video footage of its preparations for infiltrating the southern parts of South Korea.
An analysis of the North’s Korean Central Television program on Monday revealed that soldiers of the Korean People’s Army Unit 1314 examined satellite maps of areas in the southwestern city of Gwangju.
The detailed analysis of the broadcast images show that the maps had specifically-labeled locations, including the South Korean Army 31st Division in the vicinity.

“(Kim Jong-un) instructed exercises be solidly carried out based on specific information for approach into the areas of operations."
In the footage of Kim Jong-un’s visit to the unit in January, the North Korean leader was also seen pointing to southwestern coastal islands while giving instructions.
The Korea Defense and Security Forum's Shin Jong-woo and other military experts said that the North is aiming to sabotage military and industrial facilities in the rear areas.

"They seek to spark social chaos by destroying military units that guard the rear areas and industrial facilities. We can't engage in an all-out war of the entire nation (if such happens.)"
In the broadcast, the satellite images were in low resolution, but clearly showed locations of South Korean infrastructure, including roads, ports and airports.
