Body of Kim Jong-nam Relocated to Outskirts of Kuala Lumpur

The body of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s half-brother Kim Jong-nam has reportedly been relocated from a morgue at a Kuala Lumpur hospital to a facility on the outskirts of the Malaysian capital.
Kim’s body was moved from the National Forensic Medicine Institute(IPFN) within the Hospital Kuala Lumpur, where it was kept for more than 40 days, to a district located southeast of Kuala Lumpur. According to several Malaysian media outlets, including the New Straits Times, the relocation of the body was for “religious rites”.
Many Malaysian police officers were dispatched to IPFN on Sunday morning for the transfer of the body. The vehicle carrying Kim’s body left the facility amid a heavy police escort, involving several police multi-purpose vehicles.
Political pundits are wondering whether the move is a step for handing over his body to North Korea. The Malaysian government has conducted closed-door talks with North Korea over Pyongyang’s request to collect the body.
