S. Korea Conveys Stance to US Ahead of US-China Summit
With the U.S.-China summit four days away, South Korea has reportedly delivered its stance to Washington regarding its opposition to North Korea’s nuclear tests and China’s retaliation against the deployment of a U.S. THAAD antimissile system on the Korean Peninsula.
A diplomatic source in Beijing said on Monday that Seoul has already explained its position on the issues and asked the U.S. to back its demands during its summit with China.
The source said Seoul clearly conveyed its stance that THAAD is for South Korea’s defense against the North’s threats and China’s retaliation against the THAAD installment is unfair.
