UNSC to Hold Meeting on N. Korean Nuke Issue This Month
The UN Security Council(UNSC) is to hold a meeting later this month to discuss North Korea’s nuclear program and other global nonproliferation issues.
U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley disclosed a plan to call a UNSC meeting on April 28th in a meeting with reporters on Monday, adding U.S. State Secretary Rex Tillerson will preside over the meeting.
The U.S. holds the rotating presidency of the UNSC for this month.
Tillerson will visit the UN for the first time since taking office later this month and is expected to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss the North Korean nuclear program among other issues.
