S. Korean Women’s Football Team in Pyongyang for AFC Preliminaries

The South Korean women’s national football team has arrived in North Korea to play preliminaries for the 2018 Asian Football Confederation(AFC) Asian Cup.
Led by coach Yoon Deok-yeo, the South Korean team left Beijing at 1:20 p.m. on Monday and arrived in Pyongyang three hours later.
This marks the first time in 27 years that a South Korean national football team has visited the North Korean capital for a match, since an inter-Korean friendly game between men’s teams in October 1990.
The South Korean team consists of 51 members—23 players as well as support staffers and reporters.
With the latest trip, coach Yoon has become the first South Korean football personality to visit Pyongyang twice. He was one of the players who participated in the 1990 friendly match.
The inter-Korean match will be held on Friday. South Korea will play against India on Wednesday, Hong Kong on Sunday and Uzbekistan next Tuesday.
