North Korea has hinted at its intentions to stage provocations in protest of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee and Treasury Department's move to toughen sanctions against the regime.
 
The North’s state-run Korean Central Television on Monday quoted the North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesperson as saying that the world will soon witness the turn of events that will trample the U.S. sanction measures. 
 
The spokesman said that the U.S. is persistently seeking sanctions because Pyongyang is refusing to abandon its socialist values and to surrender to the U.S.’s tyranny.  
 
The threats come as the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee passed a bill last week aimed at toughening sanctions on the North and the Treasury Department blacklisted one North Korean firm and eleven more individuals.
