Top nuclear envoys of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan have discussed Wednesday’s ballistic missile firing by North Korea.
 
The Foreign Ministry said Thursday that Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Kim Hong-kyun discussed how to respond to the latest North Korean provocation in separate phone conferences with his U.S. and Japanese counterparts, Joseph Yoon and Kenji Kanasugi.
 
During the phone conversations, the three envoys altogether strongly denounced the North’s ballistic missile launch and agreed to make full preparations against more provocations by the regime.
 
They also pledged to closely cooperate in countering North Korea through UN sanctions and their own independent sanctions.
