UNSC Unanimously Condemns N. Korea's Latest Missile Launch

The UN Security Council(UNSC) has unanimously adopted a press statement denouncing North Korea for its latest ballistic missile test.
In the statement adopted by the 15 member states on Thursday, the UN body strongly condemned Wednesday’s ballistic missile test, pointing out the launch is in grave violation of UNSC resolutions banning the regime from testing missiles using ballistic missile technology.
The council also expressed its utmost concern over the North’s highly destabilizing behavior and flagrant and provocative defiance of the UNSC, noting that such activities are contributing to the country’s development of nuclear weapons delivery systems and are significantly increasing tension in the region and beyond.
It's the fourth council statement concerning Pyongyang's missile provocations this year and the first time a statement was issued following the previous ballistic missile test on March 21st and a ballistic missile engine test on March 19th.
The North launched what was assessed to be a medium-range Scud-Extended Range(ER) missile on Wednesday, a day before a U.S.-China summit where the North’s nuclear issue is set to be a key topic for discussion.
